The latest Rock Band 4 trailer from Harmonix Music Systems and Mad Catz Interactive comes with the announcement of several new songs and quite a few new artists that will appear in the upcoming revival of the Rock Band game franchise. Bands joining the set list include Aerosmith, Foo Fighters, Ozzy Osborne, and Paramore.
As can be seen and heard in the above trailer, the following songs are now on the official Rock Band 4 track list:
- Aerosmith – “Toys in the Attic”
- The Cure – “Friday I’m In Love”
- Dream Theater – “Metropolis – Part 1 “The Miracle And The Sleeper””
- Foo Fighters – “The Feast and the Famine”
- Judas Priest – “Halls Of Valhalla”
- Live – “All Over You”
- The Outfield – “Your Love”
- Ozzy Osbourne – “Miracle Man”
- Paramore – “Still Into You”
- St. Vincent – “Birth In Reverse”
- Van Morrison – “Brown Eyed Girl”
The announcement includes a heavy helping of rock favorites. Previous announcements unveiled tracks that catered to classic and pop music tastes with tracks from Elvis Presley and Bruno Mars. A complete track listing can be viewed on the official Rock Band 4 website.
More than 2,000 songs will be made available for purchase as additional downloadable content from the Rock Band Music Store, giving Rock Band 4 the largest music catalog in franchise history. The official site also promises longtime franchise fans the opportunity to bring previous purchases into the new generation game.
“Never before have players had access to such a large and varied library of playable songs. Further, players can re-download any previously purchased DLC from their Rock Band DLC libraries at no additional cost.”
Players looking to get more songs for less at launch can pre-order to receive 30 songs as a free, pre-order bonus. Amazon is also offering an additional four songs as an exclusive pre-order bonus.
Although its release will face competition from Activision’s revival of the Guitar Hero franchise through Guitar Hero Live, critics given early hands-on opportunities of both games seem to be leaning in Rock Band 4‘s favor. Rock Band 4 beat out Guitar Hero Live for several “Best of” awards at E3 from publications like Game Informer, IGN, US Gamer, Polygon and Press Start TV.
Rock Band 4 is scheduled for a global release on October 6, 2015. It will be playable on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Are you excited to rock out in your living room? Sound off in the comments below.
