Han Solo Plotline For ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Revealed? [Rumors]
The Han Solo plotline for the upcoming and much-anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens, has been revealed if the recent rumors are to be believed.
We warn you that there may be SPOILERS contained in this article, but if you didn’t want to know, you wouldn’t be here.
As we were saying, the latest rumors surrounding Star Wars: The Force Awakens have to do with that smuggler we all love, Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and what he has been up to since we last saw him in Return of the Jedi, 30-years-ago.
As usual, one of the most reliable sources in all things The Force Awakens, Making Star Wars, revealed what they say is the latest information surrounding the Han Solo plotline for the upcoming J.J. Abrams blockbuster. The new information makes sense, even if it’s not official — and why would it be? — and ties nicely with that moment when Han says, “Chewie, we’re home” at the end of the trailer released at the Star Wars Celebration in April.
Even though Disney is starting a new post-Jedi Star Wars canon or doing away with what everyone knows so far, it seems Han Solo and Chewbacca’s plotline is not part of the new backstory. According to a source, Han and Chewie have had a hard time after the events of Return of the Jedi.
“Chewbacca is captured and put into slavery in the aftermath of Revenge of the Sith and the invasion of Kashyyyk. Han Solo frees the Wookiee and therefore Chewbacca owes Han Solo a life debt.
“Just before the events of The Force Awakens Han and Chewie are very down and out. Han is older, sadder, bitter, and hangs out in bars all the time. The years haven’t been kind to the smuggler. Although Jabba is out of his life, Solo found new men willing to kill him and his life is as complicated as it ever was.
“Ducain and the Irving Boys want Han Solo dead. That is a fact. However, it is by no means confirmed, but certainly possible that the people Han Solo fights on the gigantic freighter in The Force Awakens are gangs connected to or consisting of Ducain and the Irving Boys.
Another interesting part of the Han Solo plotline is that he has lost his beloved Millennium Falcon, hence the “we’re home” line at the end of the trailer. Several rumors still surround the unconfirmed information about the popular smuggler, some of which have to do with what happened with him and Princess Leia and if any of the newcomers are their kids. The latter part has been dismissed entirely, but it could all be a distraction, which is not above Abrams.
