Maine Shooting Spree Suspect Anthony Lord Now In Custody
The Maine shootings spree suspect, Anthony Lord, is now in custody. Investigators in northern Maine are currently attempting to determine the motive the alleged murdered had for shooting four people. Lord has been charged on both homicide and kidnapping charges.
Anthony Lord was arrested not long after the Maine shooting spree at his uncle’s home in Houlton. Maine State Police Lt. Sean Hashey said a woman allegedly kidnapped by the convicted sex offender was also found and is now receiving care.
Maine investigators stated that Lord knew some of his victims but offered no other details about the relationship between the murder suspect and those harmed on Thursday.
“We know a lot, but there’s a lot of questions to be answered still,” Lt. Hashey said.
The Maine shootings left Kevin Tozier, 58, and Kyle Hewitt, 22, dead. Three other shooting spree victims, two men and one woman, were also shot. The victims are reportedly being treated for their wounds and expected to recover.
Anthony Lord began his shooting spree at his brother’s home, according to police. The windows and doors were reportedly shot out at his home, but no one was injured. The murder suspect then went to the site of a barn fire, followed by a visit to the home of Brittany Irish, 22. Lord and Irish, whom he later kidnapped, reportedly knew each other. Hewitt was Irish’s boyfriend.
Carlton Eddy was reportedly shot through the window of his pickup truck in his driveway. Tozier and Clayton McCarthy were reportedly shot in Lee, where a logging truck was stolen by Lord after he abandoned a pickup.
Maine police officers are still investigating the death of Lord’s 6-month-old baby boy. The infant, Larry Earl Lord of Bangor, died on May 7.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Anthony Lord has a long criminal history dating back to 1999. In 2002, Lord was sentenced to 364 days in prison on criminal trespass and assault charges, the jail time was suspended. Later that same year, the Maine shooting spree suspect was charged with unlawful sexual contact and gross sexual assault. He pleaded guilty to a lesser charge and was sentenced to five years in prison, and again, all but 18 months of the jail time was suspended. Lord was designated a sexual offender as a result of the conviction.
Anthony Lord has also been convicted of trafficking tobacco while in prison, operating under the influence, theft, and domestic violence. The domestic violence convictions occurred in February. Lord was sentenced to 10 months in jail, and once more, all but 45 days were suspended.
