Drug Use Update: Corey Simms Discusses Leah’s Possible Addiction In ‘Teen Mom 2’ Bonus Clip
The reported drug use of Leah Messer has been a hot topic throughout Teen Mom 2 season 6, and during a bonus clip not seen on last night’s show, Corey Simms is seen discussing the issue with his parents and wife Miranda.
In the clip, shared on YouTube on July 16, the Simms family reflects on the recent update to their custody situation. Although no illegal drug use was found during Messer’s court-ordered drug test, Simms and his wife were awarded one additional day with Simms and Messer’s twin daughters, Ali and Aleeah.
“I’m glad it’s over, I’m just not exactly happy with the outcome. [I got] an extra day, but I feel like it needs to be more.”
Simms went on to reveal that their duties with Messer are now split. One week, Messer will be in charge of taking Ali to therapy, and the next, Miranda would take her. They also now do alternate school drop-offs and pick-ups. Since Simms’ wife is a stay-at-home mom, she’s able to help out a lot with his girls.
Prior to the court order being amended, Messer, who has been accused of drug use for months, had been taking her daughters to class late or not at all, which was a major concern for their father. Now, he would at least have control over the girls’ school schedule half of the time.
Simms’ wife then spoke of Messer.
“I’d never try to take their mother’s place, but I get to spend time with them and have that bond with them and love them as if they were my own.”
According to Simms, Messer’s possible drug use is no joke in the eyes of the judge on their case.
“The judge looked right at Leah and told her that if the girls are continuing being tardy and absent from school, then he is going to reverse it and give the girls to be during school time.”
As the Inquisitr previously reported, both Simms and Messer’s second ex-husband, Jeremy Calvert, are said to be on the lookout for red flags, or possible drug use. On July 17, a source spoke to Life & Style, via OK! Magazine, claiming the two men would do what it takes to ensure the safety of their children with Messer.
“So, far Leah’s been on good behavior and things are running smoothly with her and the kids. [But] if her behavior raises any red flags, they will definitely make a move.”
