Did ‘Sons Of Anarchy’ Star Charlie Hunnam And His ‘Crimson Peak’ Costar Jessica Chastain Fall In Love On Set?
Does Charlie Hunnam have a new love interest in co-star Jessica Chastain? The Sons of Anarchy star met Chastain during their time on set of the upcoming Guillermo del Toro horror flick, Crimson Peak. Although Chastain has joked in the past about falling in love with Hunnam on set, the actress recently addressed the issue during Comic-Con in San Diego.
“I did not fall in love with Charlie, press out!” Chastain told E! Online during Comic-Con.
Although she denied the rumors of a possible love interest with Hunnam, she went on to state that Hunnam is “absolutely gorgeous” and that he is a very generous person. “He’s so nice,” she revealed. “He bought me this incredible thoughtful birthday present, this amazing artist and this book of photographs. He’s just this normal down-to-earth [guy]. So cool,” she added.
Crimson Peak centers on the story of an 19th century English author, played by Mia Wasikowska, who falls in love with Sir Thomas Sharpe, played by Tim Hiddleston. For her part, Chastain plays Hiddleston’s dark and secretive sister, while Charlie Hunnam plays the role of Dr. Alan McMichael.
Meanwhile, several cast members of Crimson Peak were present at Comic-Con this year in a panel to promote the new film. Joining del Toro on the panel discussion were Chastain, Hiddleston, and Wasikowska.
When asked about the upcoming movie, del Toro described his film as a classic haunted house horror film with a few modern, and gothic, additions. “It’s a straight gothic romance where certain twists are a little more gender liberating,” he explained, according to L.A. Times.
Del Toro also revealed that he gave Hiddleston, Wasikowska, and Chastain a 10-15 page report on each of their characters prior to filming. The files included details concerning the background of their characters to help them fully understand who they were playing.
“That kind of detail is what we should all do with every character we play,” Hiddleston told the crowd at Comic-Con.
Although del Toro did not offer any insight into what happened between Chastain and Hunnam, who was not present at the event, he did state that he felt the film needed to receive an adult rating in order to accomplish his goals. “It needed to be R. It needed to be complex,” he explained. “For the first time I felt completely free to make an adult movie in the English language.”
