Watch USA Vs. Cuba Soccer Live Online: CONCACAF Gold Cup Quarterfinal, Streaming From Baltimore
The USA Men’s National Soccer team is through to the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup, and supporters can watch live online when they take on Cuba in the first elimination match on Saturday — a game which features the return of USA veteran DaMarcus Beasley to the national side.
To watch Beasley and Team USA vs. Cuba live online in the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup, use the streaming links in the final paragraph of this article. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, at M&T Bank Stadium at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland — 2 p.m. Pacific Time.
L.A. Galaxy striker Alex Gordon has been called up to the USA team by Coach Jurgen Klinsmann, taking the place of veteran Jozy Altidore, who was dropped by Klinsmann for subpar performance in the group stage.
“We believe that Jozy’s just not there yet,” Klinsmann said. “Jozy never really got into this tournament and never really picked up the rhythm. He’s just simply not in the shape right now to help us.”
But longtime fans of USA soccer will be most excited by the return of Beasley, who thought he was retired from international competition, focusing on his role with the Houston Dynamo of Major League Soccer.
“All it took was Jurgen to call and that was it,” said the 33-year-old Beasley, a veteran of four World Cup tournaments with Team USA. “I wasn’t expecting to be back here. I retired for reasons — to spend more time with my family, stuff like that. But what player is going to say no?”
Beasley will take the spot now vacated by 23-year-old left back Greg Garza, but whether the veteran will be inserted into the starting 11 against Cuba Saturday has yet to be decided. His teammates are glad to have the old pro back to collect his 122nd USA cap.
“When you talk about experience and just having seen it all, his presence in the group is so important,” USA Captain Michael Bradley said. “He’s a leader. He comes in and has a great way about him in terms of the way he trains and in terms of the way he carries himself.”
