You can now bank with Bo Jackson
Baseball and football great Bo Jackson has kept busy since becoming the first athlete to be named an All-Star in two sports, and he latest endeavor is no different. This time, he’s started a bank.
Jackson is a founding investor in the Burr Ridge Bank and Trust Bank in suburban Chicago, which opened its doors for the first time Tuesday. Along with sitting on the board of directors, Bo will be “rolling up his sleeves” and working with staff to help the bank become a success.
“We have no type of debt, like all the other banks. We’re a small community bank and one thing we all decided, is that if we are going to do a bank in our community, it needs to be owned by the people who live in the community,” Jackson told local media.
Bo Jackson retired from football in 1990, and Baseball in 1994. He’s well remembered for the “Bo Knows” advertising campaign, a series of advertisements by Nike promoting a cross-training athletic shoe named in his honor.
