Emily Maynard’s Baby Arrives: Former ‘Bachelorette’ Welcomes Baby Boy With Husband Tyler Johnson
Former Bachelorette star Emily Maynard’s baby has arrived, and it looks like both mama and baby are doing well. Fans know that Emily and husband Tyler Johnson were expecting a baby boy, and now it looks like he has finally made his debut.
Maynard shared a picture via Instagram of her with the baby, seemingly right after his delivery, and she noted that “God is good. My heart can’t even handle it.”
Within an hour, the former Bachelorette star’s post already had more than 22,000 likes and 600 comments. Emily did not share the baby’s name yet, or any further details other than revealing that he has arrived, and it seems that he made his debut on Wednesday.
Emily had chatted with Us Weekly ahead of the delivery, noting that she and Tyler were having a hard time deciding on names for the baby. She joked that she had told Tyler that if he got to determine the baby’s last name, she should get to pick the baby’s first name. It sounded like they had different ideas about what name to choose, and that there was some negotiating and compromising coming into play.
The couple met at church and got engaged in January, 2014. They then held a beautiful but surprise wedding in June, 2014. Emily and Tyler’s pregnancy was revealed in January, and she’s kept fans fairly updated along the way. She had teased a gender reveal cake that she was doing, but then kept the details about the baby being a boy under wraps until more recently.
Bachelorette fans always knew that Maynard was anxious to have more kids. Emily has one daughter, Ricki, who arrived just months after the death of Ricky Hendrick, Ricki’s father. Throughout her time of being involved in “Bachelor Nation,” the star made no secret of wanting more babies and, once she got married, she didn’t hesitate to get started on that front.
Emily appeared on Brad Womack’s second season of the Bachelor in 2011, but their engagement ended shortly after their finale aired. Emily went on to become the Bachelorette in 2012, and she got engaged to Jef Holm. They ended up splitting a few months after their finale. Tyler Johnson is someone she had known back home for a while, and friendship turned to romance not long after she became single again.
