‘GTA V’ Double Score Weekend Offers Heist Bonuses, Apartment Discounts
Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) is looking to have its players cause a little bit more mayhem this weekend, and in doing so is offering double rewards and RP to players who complete the Prison Break heist from Thursday, July 16 through Sunday, July 19.

Dubbed their “Double Score Weekend,” GTA V players who play online this weekend can take advantage of the double RP, cash, and discounts offered by Rockstar. While the Prison Break heist requires a certain level to start, or a reliable group of friends who won’t leave you in the dust if things go awry, GTA V players can still rake in the double RP by completing some of the various tasks laid out by Rockstar for this weekend.
- Armored Trucks
- Collecting Bounties
- Completing Daily Objectives
- Crate Drop Collection & Enemy Kills
- Destroy Vehicle Targets
- Distract Cops
- Flight School
- Gang Attack Completion and Enemy Kills
- Holding up a Convenience Store
- Import/Export Vehicle Delivery
- Impromptu Race
- Killing a Mugger
- Lester Kill Targets
- Losing Wanted Levels
- Plane Takedown
In addition to the GTA V activities giving you an RP boost, many high-end apartments, which are required to plan the Prison Break heist and others, are also on sale for the time being. Players looking to move on up to Rockford Hills and the surrounding “ritzy” areas of Los Santos can do so with a 25 percent discount through Sunday. Rockstar is also promising more discounts on gear and such in the coming days.
Since the “Ill-Gotten Gains” DLC hit earlier this month, GTA V has seen a number of glitches and performance issues, especially after part two dropped on PC and consoles a short time ago. PC users have been plagued with unstable framerates and all users have dealt with their fancy cars being shipped to storage, causing some players to think their vehicles were deleted. Also, the money and car duplication glitches are still prevalent on the PS4 and Xbox One versions of GTA V, though Rockstar is undoubtedly working on a fix. No word on whether these glitches work on PC or last-gen hardware, however.
Players looking to score big may want to get your crews together soon, as once the bonuses are gone, there’s no telling when Rockstar will do another major bonus weekend again. Prison Break is a heist best done with four people you know, so tell your friends to grab some snacks and blast your way to freedom in GTA V this weekend.
