Will Ellie Goulding Be Featured On The New James Bond Movie?
According to a tweet that went out yesterday afternoon, Ellie Goulding may be the featured artist on the newest James Bond film, Spectre. Rumors have been circulating as to who would really have their song featured on the film. Some believed it would be Adele again, particularly after her stirring performance in Skyfall. More recently, Sam Smith was suspected as the feature artist.
Smith has denied the many reports that put him in that prestigious position.
“People seem to think I’m doing it but I have no idea what’s going on. I’m being deadly serious. I think I would know by now.”
But it sounds like he knows exactly who will be performing the theme tune for Spectre.
“I heard Ellie Goulding was going to do it.”
Furthermore, Goulding has confirmed that she will be recording some brand new material that will be an instant hit, and she’s hinting that it will be affiliated with James Bond.
Her simple tweet accompanied by a very excited-looking Goulding in a recording booth says it all.
“Live and let die.”
For those who have been living under a rock for the last 50 years, that is one of the most iconic phrases in the Bond franchise.
If this hint turns out to be true, this will be the second recording within a year that Goulding has scored for major Hollywood films. Her last song that fit the bill, “Love Me Like You Do,” was featured on Fifty Shades of Grey, and has since become her biggest hit.
Her tweet and suspicious new recording say it all. At this point, it will be very surprising if anyone but Ellie takes the stage for the Bond recording. She’s just 28-years-old but rising in fame, making her the perfect candidate for such a prominent record deal.
If she is the one to do the deal, she’ll be beating out frontrunners like Ed Sheeran, Lana del Rey, One Direction, Rita Ora, and Adele herself, who won an Oscar for the theme song in Skyfall, which bears the same name as the movie. She’ll also be joining a long line of revered stars who have been featured on the iconic Bond movies, including Nancy Sinatra, Madonna, Paul McCartney, and Tina Turner.
The actual news of who will be singing the theme song should come soon, but Spectre is set to air on October 23 in the United Kingdom and November 6 in the United States.
Whether or not she is recording for the James Bond film, fans are simply thrilled to see Ellie Goulding in the recording studio and are excited to see what she will produce next.
