Ben Higgins, Booted From ‘Bachelorette’ By Kaitlyn Bristowe, Next Bachelor? Host Chris Harrison Hints Yes [Video]
Ben Higgins is the next Bachelor? Before you start cheering, wait for what Ben actually has to say. He’s the latest casualty in the list of The Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe bye-byes, reported MSN.
“[Those] conversations haven’t happened yet,” said Higgins.
Ben did contemplate what he would say if ABC offered him the chance to become the future Bachelor.
“The opportunity is a great one and from a 30,000 foot view I would have to consider it,” admitted Higgins.
However, ABC’s formula for the Bachelor franchise calls for the announcement to be made following the “After the Final Rose” episode.
Host Chris Harrison opined that Ben never had a chance when it came to Bristowe.
Talking about departed Higgins with TV Guide, Chris revealed what he really thought when Ben was sent home, despite the upbeat overnight date.
“[Higgins] is a great guy, and what you see is what you get. He’s so handsome, has a great self-deprecating sense of humor, and he’s down to earth, which is rare when you find a guy with a package like that — God doesn’t give it all to you! I just think Kaitlyn was so into Nick and Shawn that I don’t know if Ben even had a chance,” shared Chris.
As for whether Higgins does have a chance as the Bachelor?
“I think he could be the one,” said Harrison.
“I can pretty much guarantee the next Bachelor will come out of this season, and it’s very rare we have so many good choices. When you look at the front row of ‘Men Tell All,’ we had Ben Z, Ben H, Jared, and Chris, and I was looking at those four thinking any of them would make a great season. We’ve started those discussions and we’ll have a great Bachelor.”
But according to the New York Daily News, Ben is firmly established as the next Bachelor, and has been confirmed for the next go-round of The Bachelor.
“This wonderful girl deserves happiness,” tweeted Higgins after he was kicked off. “Much respect for you @kaitlynbristowe and glad you were our bachelorette.”
And it’s not just the nice follow-up that makes Ben a popular choice as the Bachelor. Second runners-ups typically are the ones chosen, putting Higgins at the top of the list.
As the Inquisitr reported, for those who think that host Harrison might be getting weary of all those roses and rings, Chris revealed that the romantic reality show still is close to his heart.
Love is a competitive game just like Harrison’s beloved golf. Therefore, why not build a reality TV show around it?
“Love is as much of a competition as anything. If you don’t think so, you’re either losing the game or you’re not playing,” declared the Bachelor host.
