Heather Thomson is not returning to the Real Housewives of New York for its eighth season, claims a show insider. The reality TV star is allegedly leaving the show because she’s grown tired of the other Housewives’ antics.
A source close to the show tells Us Weekly after three seasons, Heather Thomson has had enough of being a New York Housewife. While the Yummie creator initially agreed to join the show to promote her business, the RHONY dynamic has changed so much that the show no longer fits with where she is going with her business endeavors.
“She did the show to promote her business and later to be with her best friend, Carole Radziwill, and didn’t expect it to end up with fighting with Bethenny and Sonja and the rest edited out. It is no longer a good fit with where she sees her life going so she is making the choice to walk away.”
Heather Thomson, who joined the show in its fifth season, has had a drama-filled seventh season, as she has frequently gone head-to-head with most of the other cast members. In addition to Bethenny Frankel and Sonja Morgan, Heather has had run-ins with costars Ramona Singer and Dorinda Medley, and as fans witnessed during Tuesday’s episode, a major blowout with Luann de Lesseps while still vacationing in Turks and Caicos, and again once the cast returned to New York. The source tells Us Weekly that constantly fighting with the other cast members is not what Heather wants to spend her time doing going forward.
“The cons of doing the show far outweigh the pros at this point, and what the show has become don’t fit what she wants to be doing … it [the show] devolved into ridiculous fights over the ridiculous antics of some unstable women.”
With the Real Housewives of New York reunion taping having wrapped up last week, rumors are swirling about who will and will not return for Season 8. According to Radar Online , Bethenny Frankel’s return next season is a done deal, but as the Inquisitr previously reported, rumors surfaced earlier this month that Heather Thomson is just one cast member who will not be asked to return to RHONY for the next season. Kristen Taekman and Carole Radziwill are two other cast members rumored to be on Bravo’s chopping block.
The network has made no announcements regarding any RHONY casting changes.
The Real Housewives of New York airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
