Katherine Heigl Adopts A Baby With Husband Josh Kelley
Katherine Heigl and Josh Kelley have adopted another child.
A rep for the couple confirmed the news but didn’t give any details about the baby. The rep said: “Yes, they have adopted.”
The rep didn’t say when the couple adopted the baby, the age of the child, the gender, or the baby’s nationality. The National Enquirer reports that Heigl and Kelley have adopted a baby girl from Louisiana. A source told the Enquirer:
“The whole adoption process for Katherine and Josh’s second child was like a covert operation… As soon as they got the word the baby was born, Katherine and Josh flew from California to Louisiana to pick up their new daughter. But they didn’t want to let the cat out of the bag too soon about their new little girl.”
According to E! News, this is the second time that Heigl and Kelley have adopted a baby. In 2009 they adopted Naleigh, their oldest daughter, from South Korea.
Heigl told Scholastic Parent & Child in February:
“Josh and I started talking about [adoption] before we were even engaged… My sister Meg is Korean, and my parents adopted her three years before I was born. I wanted my own family to resemble the one I came from, so I always knew I wanted to adopt from Korea.”
Heigl said that she may have biological children in the future but right now she’s happy with adoption. Heigl said:
“We have talked about having biological children as well, but we decided to adopt first. I just wanted to be a mom. So however we did that, it’s fine with me. I’d like to adopt again.”
