Miss USA 2015: Olivia Jordan, Miss Oklahoma Crowned — Who Is The Pageant Queen? [Photos]
The Miss USA 2015 beauty pageant has finally crowned a winner. Miss Oklahoma, also known as Olivia Jordan, was crowned as Miss USA 2015.
The 26-year-old winner wore a hot pink sequined ball gown as she answered tough questions about issues affecting the nation. A former Miss Universe winner asked the future Miss USA what she believes the country should focus on next.
“I think we still need to talk about race relations in this country. We have not solved this issue. We are still having problems. We keep hearing about new issues coming up. We really need to work on being an accepting society and being a society where every single person, no matter your race, no matter your gender, is given the same rights and privileges and opportunities.”
Jordan’s second question was about which woman should become the face of the $10 bill. She first said Oprah Winfrey, but then said Harriet Tubman, according to USA Today.
Who is Olivia Jordan, you ask? Miss USA 2015 hails from Tulsa, Oklahoma and majored in Health Science at Boston University back in 2011. She also worked as a personal trainer. Jordan also was a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority at the University. Prior to attending college, Jordan was on the high school student council, the tennis team, and on the varsity cheer team.
Olivia has already made her big break in acting. She’s already been the face of several commercials and movies. The pageant queen has starred in Here Comes the Boom, Hot Tub Time Machine 2 and Ted. She also guest-starred on Lifetime’s UnREAL, according to a previous report on the Hollywood Life. After college, Olivia moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in both acting and modeling. Olivia has been featured in Cosmpolitan, Shape and Vogue Japan. She recently walked for Sherri Hill at New York Fashion Week 2015 and at Miami Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim 2014.
The causes that are closest to Miss USA’s heart are child trafficking and Alzheimer’s. Jordan is an advocate for Children of the Night, a group that helps get U.S. children out of trafficking. She also hosted the 2015 Oklahoma Chapter Alzheimer’s Association Memory Gala and helped raise $1.3 million.
Olivia Jordan is also an advocate to the LGBT community. She has posed in the past for the NoH8 campaign, and shared her views about the Supreme Court’s same-sex ruling in all 50 states.
Jordan shared a photo to her 42,000 followers with the caption: “#LoveWins and it’s about time. Look forward to days in our future with #NoH8 #hope #love #equalityforall.”
On her free time, Olivia watches after her dog, Franklin, and watches her favorite show, Friends. She may be taking. (Sorry guys!) Olivia sometimes shares photos of herself with male model Colin Owens.
Miss USA was chosen by the former Miss Universe Organization titleholders. Olivia Jordan beat Anea Garcia, Miss Rhode Island and Ylianna Guerra, Miss Texas, for the crown. Jordan will go on to compete at the Miss Universe pageant.
