The second trailer for the upcoming DC Comic film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was released at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego. Thousands of fans were present at the event in Hall H, where they were given a chance to view the trailer, and the reaction so far has been largely positive.
The trailer, which has since been released online, features a more detailed look at the storyline of the film and offers a better glimpse at Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot). Additionally, one interesting element of the trailer concerns the shot of Robin’s suit, which is seen hanging up in Batman’s (Ben Affleck) cave.
According to Forbes , the suit that is shown in the video is Robin’s, and the graffiti written all over it is a message from the Joker. This makes sense, as in the comics, the second Robin is beaten to death by the Joker, and it’s possible that this might be featured in the film as a way to push Batman over the edge in his quest for revenge against Superman (Henry Cavill).
With that in mind, Jared Leto is set to make his first appearance as the Joker in the upcoming Suicide Squad film. However, if the Joker is featured in some kind of flashback in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice , it’s possible that Leto will make his debut then.
Meanwhile, along with the release of the new trailer, fans at Comic-Con were also given an up close and personal look at the new Batmobile. According to Coming Soon , director Zack Snyder showed up with the famous car while fans were waiting in line for the event, and even handed out free t-shirts to go along with the Batmobile appearance.
At the same time, Affleck appeared for the panel discussion at Comic-Con in his first public appearance since announcing his divorce with Jennifer Garner. Affleck was joined by Cavill, Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor), Amy Adams, and Snyder.
During the session, Affleck talked about what it was like to portray such an iconic role as Batman, especially considering all the talented actors who have played the part in the past. “If I thought too hard about the actors who played the part before, I couldn’t take the job,” he explained . “George Clooney did great, Christian Bale … I talked to Zack, and I was like are you sure, you know? And he said I have this vision, I have this idea for the guy and you’re perfect for it.”
“The truth was that he took me through the process of creating this character that I quite almost didn’t see and at the end of it I was astonished … That was exactly what you pitched me and I wasn’t sure I was doing it.”
