Watch Bangladesh Vs. South Africa Live Online: 2nd ODI, Streaming — Tigers Face Must-Win Game
A desperate Bangladesh cricket team will fight to even their ODI series with South Africa and fans can watch the second One Day International live online as the hosts struggle to get back to their winning ways after a South Africa side brought the Tigers down to Earth — even though the South Africa team is without several of its top players.
South Africa started their tour of Bangladesh by rudely sweeping their hosts in a two match T20 series. But Bangladesh had shown its real strength with the ODI edition of their team, winning 10 straight home matches before falling to India in the third ODI of that series last month.
After dropping the opening match of the three-ODI series with South Africa Friday, Bangladesh have now lost two in a row and need a victory to recover the confidence they took out of their first trip to the World Cup quarterfinals in March — confidence that soared to uprecedented levels after smashing their subcontinent rivals, Pakistan and India, with a five-match ODI win streak.
To find out how to watch the Second Bangladesh vs. South Africa ODI match live online from Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka, Bangladesh, see the information at the bottom of this article. The match is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. local time, which is 9 a.m. Greenwich Mean Time on Sunday, July 12.
For viewers in the United States, that time is 5 a.m. Eastern, 2 a.m. Pacific.
In Friday’s series opener, Bangladesh ran into a bowling whirlwind in the form of 20-year-old debutante Kasigo Rabada who claimed a six-wicket haul including a hat trick as the visitors bowled out Bangladesh for 160, an easy target for South Africa.
In the wake of that heavy, eight-wicket defeat, Bangladesh Captain Mashrafe Mortaza has come in for some harsh second-guessing, for the Bangladesh strategy of using eight batsmen and just four bowlers.
But in reality, the problem was not as much the extra batsman, as the subpar performance turned in by the Bangladesh top and middle order — the players who are expected to carry the team on their shoulders.
Rabada bowled opener Tamim Iqbal for a duck and also dismissed Soumya Sarkar for 26 and Litton Das for another zero score.
Shakib al Hasan managed just 48 before going out LBW from Imran Tahir, and Mushfiqur Rahim managed a mere 24 before Tahir caught him out on a ball from part-time bowler J.P. Duminy.
Bangaldesh will require its top batsmen to do better to have any hope of stopping South Africa from claiming the series win on Sunday.
