Elle Macpherson Bikini: 51, Fit & Fabulous Supermodel Reveals Alkaline Diet & Supplement Tips [Photos]
Elle Macpherson sizzles in a bikini at 51, and the supermodel decided that the warm waters off Italy were the perfect place to prove that she’s still got a catwalk-worthy body. Swimming with pals, Elle wore a teeny-tiny bikini clinging to her sleek physique, reported the Daily Mail.
And although she has two children, Macpherson’s bikini showed that she’s discovered how to keep her waistline whittled at 51. For years, Elle has been advocating an alkaline diet and fitness regime as the perfect Fountain of Youth.
Macpherson has even co-founded a health firm, WelleCo. The healthy lifestyle products created by Elle’s company feature supplements such as the Super Elixir, reported Yahoo Beauty.
Recently married to Jeff Soffer, Elle is staying busy both with a JC Penney lingerie collection and her supplement products. Created in conjunction with London nutritionist Dr. Simone Laubscher, the Super Elixir focuses on providing women with what they need to look and feel young, says Macpherson.
“I truly believe nourishment is the number one place to start, particularly for women at my age,” declared Elle.
And for those who think that MacPherson looks as if she has enviably high self-esteem, the model confessed that she initially battled her body image.
“I feel like I struggled so much with being a model in my early days because on the surface it seemed so narcissistic and competitive. I certainly didn’t feel like I fit in at all. I couldn’t find the sense in the whole business for quite some time. It took me a while to figure out that it represented independence, education, freedom, and a perfect avenue for me to be creative. It took me some time to figure out how wonderful the industry was and how I could really grow within it.”
Elle learned to lose weight as needed for high fashion while maintaining her curves for other opportunities.
“I had to find that balance between being strong, with strong muscle definition and strong shoulders, and still being able to wear couture clothing,” she explained.
“That was a bit of a struggle for me because if you wanted to be successful in the fashion industry, it required a different body type. I was prepping for fashion, but I was more Sports Illustrated, shape-wise. Sports Illustrated really required you to be sporty and sexy, and have your curves, but that kind of body doesn’t really work for couture. I would juggle my weight according to what I was doing.”
Now, however, Macpherson has learned to prioritize her health. To maintain her bikini body at 51, Elle takes supplements and follows an alkaline diet. She also is loyal to the Super Elixir. As for drinking and smoking? No more, added Macpherson.
“I quit smoking, I stopped drinking and taking any prescription medicine—even aspirin and coffee. I just don’t take anything,” she added.
As the Inquisitr reported, Kelly Ripa also recently credited an alkaline diet with helping her stay slim and healthy.
Ripa’s doctor, Dr. Daryl, revealed that the go-to cleanse alkaline diet only lasts for seven days, although dieters can stay on it for long periods of time.
“It’s a very manageable cleanse. It’s very manageable. You’re not hungry. It’s not like … people go, ‘What are you eating? You’re just drinking, you know, a green juice a day?’ No, it’s not like that. You eat. I actually eat much more on this cleanse than I do in my actual life, but it’s what you eat and how you eat it,” explained Kelly.
