Lindsay Lohan ‘Honored’ To Be Playing Elizabeth Taylor

Lindsay Lohan has been in the papers more for her legal troubles than her acting abilities over the last few years, but the “Mean Girls” actress hopes to change that this year. Lohan will be starring as Elizabeth Taylor in a new Lifetime movie “Liz and Dick.”

Lohan said:

“I have always admired and had enormous respect for Elizabeth Taylor. She was not only an incredible actress but an amazing woman as well. I am very honored to have been asked to play this role.”

Rob Sharenow, Executive Vice President of Programming at Lifetime Networks, added:

“We are thrilled Lindsay will portray beloved Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor. She is one of the rare actresses who possesses the talent, beauty and intrigue to capture the spirit of such a provocative icon.”

Lohan was given the part in February under the condition that she completed her community service. Lohan followed through on the judge’s orders and officially finished her probation in March. Some fans worried that the role would be taken away from Lohan after her latest nightclub incident but the producers at Lifetime never considered dropping Lohan from the role.

Access Hollywood reports that “Liz Dick” will start shooting this Summer.
