Ian Solmerhalder Interested In Fifty Shades of Grey Role

Vampire Diaries actor Ian Solmerhalder is tossing his hat into the ring to be the number one fantasy of women all over. Since it was announced that a film adaption would be made of the popular erotica novel “Fifty Shades of Grey“, people have been speculating who would play the most alluring man in every housewife’s eyes, the elusive Christian Grey.

This morning Ian Solmerhalder spoke with Ryan Seacrest on his radio show to reveal that he is indeed thinking about taking on the domineering role of Christian Grey. On the casting rumors, Solmerhalder said, “Potentially. I absolutely would be up for that. I have the book and I just started reading it. That would be a pretty incredible thing, and hopefully that could pan out, I think. Yes, beyond the shadow of a doubt I think that would be a phenomenal opportunity!”

The character, which has been described as the “ridiculously good looking, richest man in the world with unruly dark-copper-colored hair and intense, bright gray eyes” has been the center of many fantasies as of late, and Solmerhalder seems to be on the top of a lot of lists in the blogosphere. Solmerhalder has been in good company with White Collar’s Matt Bomer, Chris Pine, and Henry Cavill as well–just to name a few.

No word on when casting will begin for the role of Christian Grey or the novel’s protagonist Anastasia Steele, but Universal Studios and Focus Features came out on top to distribute the film.
