‘Gears Of War Ultimate Edition’ Gets Xbox One Bundle, Behind-The-Scenes Video
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition developers The Koalition were at the San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday, where they revealed a new Xbox One bundle featuring the remastered game. A behind-the-scenes video was also released, showing how some of the design of the game was tweaked to take advantage of the power of the new-gen console.
The Gears of War: Ultimate Edition Xbox One bundle is available to pre-order now from retailers at a price of $349.99. That means the game is included for free with the console, and it was confirmed that this is the standard console bundle going forward.

The bundle is only available in the 500GB version of the console and not the recently released 1TB version that starts at $399.99. However, the bundle is the new version of the console that includes the 3.5mm headset jack on the controller. This is the digital download version of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition in the bundle and not the physical version. It comes with early access to the Gears of War multiplayer beta coming in 2016 along with the “Superstar Cole” multiplayer skin.

The behind-the-scenes video for recreating the Gears of War cinematics takes a look at how the scenes were tweaked. The scene involving Lieutenant Minh Kim’s death was used as the example of how things have changed from the original Xbox 360 release.
Executive Producer Rod Fergusson was involved when Epic Games first developed Gears of War, and his knowledge of why and how things were done originally serves as the baseline for the updates.
Stuntmen were brought in to recreate the animation for the scene through motion capture. Meanwhile, the animators added more cuts to the scene and brought the camera in closer to the character’s face. For example, Marcus’ reaction shot to Minh’s death was brought in tighter thanks to the better graphics.
