Christian Conservatives Still Not Happy With Romney

Christian Conservatives have still not warned to a Mitt Romney presidency, but on the whole they would rather vote for anyone as opposed to Back Obama.

The 2012 election is turning out to truly be a referendum on the President’s policies over the lat three years. When voters are asked whether the country is on the right course the majority says no. They also do not like Mitt Romney the more they get to know him according to many polls.

Yet the daily Gallup poll has Romney beating Obama by more than 5 points.

This weekend at The Awakening gathering, which is a massive gathering of evangelicals, many different reasons were given as to why the base didn’t love Romney but why they plan on voting for him none the less.

Matt Barber, who helped organize the Awakening event said that it all comes down to Supreme Court Justices. He feels the next President will be naming 2 or 3 justices and he does not want President Obama to have that option.

Barber said of the justices,

“For that reason alone, to have Barack Obama re-elected is simply not an option. He has already appointed two radical, secular, socialist justices. That’s a good question. I will work with every fiber of my being to see that Barack Obama is not re-elected, and to the extent there is a collateral benefit to Mitt Romney, so be it.”

Ken Brooks a 72 year old evangelical biker said,

“I think he’s too liberal, too wishy washy, but we don’t want Obama. Speaking about Romney’s Mormon faith he said, “He don’t believe in the same Jesus that we do. But he’s better than voting for a Muslim.”
