Jennette McCurdy’s ‘Between’ Gets Renewed For Season 2 On Netflix
Jennette McCurdy has officially moved on from her days on iCarly. McCurdy’s new show, Between, was just picked up for a second season, despite the fact that the show has been flying under the radar. Jennette’s new show is now House of Cards, but Between has apparently been picking up enough eyes that Netflix believes it is worth further investment.
Between is the story of a small town in which everyone over the age of 21 loses their life to a mysterious illness. Those 21 and under work to figure out a peaceful means of living – and surviving. Jennette McCurdy stars as Wiley, the daughter of a preacher who doesn’t feel the same pull to the Bible as the rest of her family. Certainly, the subject of the show has set it apart from other dystopian series and movies and that has drawn attention from Science Fiction fans.
so thrilled that #Between is returning to @netflix @city_tv for season 2 in 2016!

Between has also been offered up by Netflix in a rather unique way for the website. McCurdy’s series wasn’t released all at once, but rolled out episode by episode. This is one of the only times Netflix has done this with its series, but it seems to be working for Jennette. McCurdy issued a statement shortly after the news hit her series had been renewed. “I’m thrilled to be continuing on with a second season of Between,” Jennette said in a statement. “Working with Netflix, City, and the entire cast and crew has been such an enjoyable experience and I can’t wait for more.” She also took to Twitter to voice her joy in the show continuing on.
It’s a safe bet that Jennette feels especially good about Between. Up until the Netflix series, McCurdy was known as someone who had most of her success on shows built more for kids or tweens. McCurdy likely feels as though she has made a name for herself, and has finally shed the idea that the only network Jennette can get work on is Nickelodeon. The 23-year-old actress has previously been best known for feuds with former co-stars, but she has her own career on the rise with the extension of Between. There is no word just yet on when the next season of Jennette McCurdy’s Between might hit the web, or whether Netflix will continue to piecemeal the show.
