Doctor Who Joins The World Of LEGO in ‘LEGO: Dimensions’ [Video]
LEGO has made a name for itself within the gaming world, producing cute, LEGO inspired games for everything from Harry Potter to Jurassic World. The one thing that LEGO hadn’t done was Doctor Who.
Until now.
LEGO was one of the many attendees of the San Diego Comic Con. During one of the company’s panels for LEGO: Dimensions, a trailer for the game was released. This trailer surprised LEGO and Doctor Who lovers everywhere.
In the official trailer, Gandalf, Batman, and Wyldstyle get pulled into a vortex. The ever-familiar blue police box, otherwise known as the TARDIS, pops up, and Doctor Who saves the day.
Of course he saves the day. That’s what he does!

Once inside the TARDIS, the Doctor inform the trio that they are needed to battle against monsters, and, you know, probably save the world. The trailer, posted below, shows snippets of gameplay, which include other well-known characters such as Homer Simpson and Doc Brown from Back To The Future. Dimensions brings together characters from all across the LEGO game enterprise. Familiar faces from The LEGO Movie, DC Comics, and Lord of the Rings join together for this “fan-pleasing extravaganza.”

The heroes also have a run in with the Daleks, because it wouldn’t be Doctor Who without at least one Dalek seeking to exterminate everything.
LEGO is even bringing in some of the Doctor Who actors to voice their characters.
“[T]he Dimensions team announced that Peter Capaldi, who plays the 12th Doctor, Jenna Coleman, who plays Clara Oswald, and Michelle Gomez, who plays Missy, will each voice their respective characters from Doctor Who in the game.”
Don’t worry, Peter Capaldi’s Doctor isn’t the only one featured in the game. A GIF released by LEGO suggests that all the versions of the Doctor will be playable.
And fans are already choosing which Doctor they will play as.
