Jared Fogle Attorney Says The Subway Spokesman Is Cooperating With Investigators
Subway announced it cut ties with spokesperson Jared Fogle after his home was searched Tuesday morning. NBC News reports FBI agents, Indiana State Police, and the U.S. Postal Service showed up at his home early in the morning and took a computer and other items away in an evidence truck.
While no specific details regarding the investigation have been released, it comes just 2-months after Russell Taylor, head of Fogle’s Jared Foundation, was charged for child pornography. A woman who was exchanging texts of sexual nature with Taylor contacted police after he asked her if she would like to see explicit photos of children. He was arrested after police found child pornographic videos and photos in his home.
Fogle released a statement after Taylor’s arrest, saying he was “shocked to learn of the disturbing allegations against Mr. Taylor,” and that the foundation immediately severed all ties with him.
Subway released a statement Tuesday saying they were “shocked” by news of the search of Jared Fogle’s home, and while they are “very concerned,” they believe it’s related to the investigation of a former employee of Fogle’s foundation.
“We are shocked about the news and believe it is related to a prior investigation of a former Jared Foundation employee. We are very concerned and will be monitoring the situation closely.”

Soon after, Subway announced it and Jared Fogle had mutually agreed it was best to “suspend” their 16-year relationship due to the investigation.
“Subway and Jared Fogle have mutually agreed to suspend their relationship due to the current investigation. Jared continues to cooperate with authorities and he expects no actions to be forthcoming. Both Jared and Subway agree that this was the appropriate step to take.”

Jared Fogle’s attorney provided a statement to the Washington Post, saying he is fully cooperating with the investigation. He also explained Fogle has not been arrested or charged with any crime.
“Jared has been cooperating, and continues to cooperate, with law enforcement in their investigation of unspecified charges and looks forward to its conclusion. He has not been detained, arrested or charged with any crime or offense.”
Jared Fogle went from college student to the famous face of Subway after following his own unique diet. He ate 2 meals of Subway sandwiches per day, and lost 245 pounds. Subway featured Fogle in a very successful ad campaign that helped give the sandwich chain the image of being more healthy than other fast food options. Subway and Jared Fogle continued their partnership for the last 16 years.
