LA Lakers Rumors: Jeremy Lin Leaving? Nick Young Traded? How Much Will Roy Hibbert Cost?
The LA Lakers still have a lot of rumors swirling around in the 2015 NBA free agency season, but not a lot of action is taking place. Now, it seems as if plenty is about to happen, but not everything is going to be positive for the Lakers. Roy Hibbert looks to be coming in a trade, but at what cost? Jeremy Lin and Nick Young could be heading out, and those may be some big losses.
First off, Jeremy Lin is the subject of talks right now that would see him out of Los Angeles and in Dallas next season. Sports Illustrated is reporting that the Lakers and Mavericks are exploring options for a sign-and-trade that would give the Mavs much-needed help.
The Mavs have lost both guards Rajon Rondo and Monta Ellis this season, and Lin appears to really like Dallas. He apparently sees it as “best opportunity to re-ignite his career, especially with a chance to become the starting point guard.”
The addition of rookie D’Angelo Russell and Sixth Man of the Year Lou Williams gives the Lakers some depth at that position. Well, the Lakers are going to need more of it as the signing of Williams means Nick Young may have overstayed his welcome.
The Lakers hoped Nick Young would be NBA sixth man of the year at some point. It hasn’t happened. So they went and got Lou Williams today.

Not only would trading away Swaggy P mean less headache for coach Byron Scott, but it would free up some cap room too, per Bleacher Report. Young is too inconsistent for the Lakers to build on him, and it seems time for the team to put their focus and money elsewhere.
Some of that money may be used to complete a trade with the Indiana Pacers for big man Roy Hibbert. It appears as if the deal is already in the works, and it may not cost the Lakers too much to get him either.
One would think that Hibbert is already gone the way Paul George makes it sound. He wrote a “thank you” note on Instagram to David West, who signed with the San Antonio Spurs, and Hibbert who is expected to be traded on Thursday to the Lakers.
The Lakers could really use Hibbert after missing out on LaMarcus Aldridge and DeAndre Jordan.
Rumors are going to keep moving about, but the LA Lakers have got to make more happen. Landing Roy Hibbert will be huge and getting someone good in return for possibly Jeremy Lin and Nick Young is imperative. Time is running out, and so are options in 2015 NBA free agency.
