Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon? Light Novels In English
The English versions of the Dungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru no Dar? ka? light novel series is being published in North America by Yen Press. So far, the official English translations have only reached Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon? Volume 3, but Volume 4 is expected to be released on December 15, 2015. The English translations have quite a ways to catch up since the Japanese Volume 8 was recently released on June 13. As for Volume 5 of the English version, the publisher has yet to set a release date.
Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon? Sword Oratoria
In short, Sword Oratoria is a side story focused on the “sword princess” Aiz Wallenstein. Without giving away too much about the plot synopsis, the story explains what Bell Cranel’s “girlfriend” has been up to ever since their fateful first encounter with the rampaging minotaur.
The story focuses on Wallenstein’s single-minded pursuit of strength and her relationship with the adventurers of the Loki Familia.
The Sword Oratoria light novel series is completed for the Japanese version, with four volumes released in total.
As of this publishing, Yen Press has not announced any plans to translate the side story into English.
Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon? Season 2 Spoilers
To begin, this spoilers guide is not intended to give a point-by-point description of the DanMachi light novels, so you will still have plenty of surprises left when the Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon? Season 2 release date is upon us. Still, don’t say all you level one adventurers weren’t warned before entering the next level of this dungeon.
The DanMachi Season 1 finale ended in a climatic moment, with Bell Cranel defeating the goliath level boss almost entirely by himself in the end. This ending also happened to correspond with the end of Volume 5 of the light novels, which gives you an idea of how far the story has progressed.
While it is possible the anime could go in a different direction, many believe the current volumes released in Japanese do not provide enough new content for DanMachi Season 2. The story would also end on an odd note since Volume 8 largely focuses on a love story surrounding Lili Arde, the Supporter. While that’s not overly dramatic enough to end an anime season, we are getting ahead of ourselves.
Volume 6 begins with Bell’s party celebrating their victory at a bar called the Hibachitei. The partying turns into brawling when the Apollo Familia begins insulting the Hestia Familia. But the party continues the next day, but this time it’s the God’s banquet being held by Apollo himself.
At this point in the story we begin to learn more about the backstory of Bell and why he has been capable of leveling so rapidly. Hermes drops a hint on the actual identity of Bell’s grandfather, and we learn more information about the god Zeus.
As might be expected, Hestia manages to get into divinely inspired arguments with the other gods. This distraction allowed Hermes to have a little more mischief, and he arranged for Bell and Aiz to have their very first formal dance together. This brief moment of peace was their last for the volume since Apollo announced he was planning on challenging Hestia to a War Game. This is when the action starts, churches are burned, and intrigue and betrayal rule the city.
After the dusts settles, you can pretty much guess who emerges victorious and Bell even levels up once again, breaking another record. While the victory in the War Game allowed the Hestia Familia to claim a certain someone’s mansion, it turns out they were still paupers since Hestia owed 200 million valis to Hephaestus. This unfortunate debt led to a series of events which involved Bell, brothels, girls, and more of Hermes’ shenanigans.
Let’s just say a crowd of women, including Amazons, end up fighting over Bell, and he decides to skedaddle. While on the run, Bell ends up becoming friends with a prostitute named Haruhime, who hid him from the Amazons. Needless to say, trying to explain all this to Hestia the following day was a vain pursuit, but these crazy women were not done messing with his head quite yet.
The end of Volume 7 focused on a plot about Haruhime and an item known as the Killing Stone. It turns out that Haruhime is owned by the Ishtar Familia, so Bell sets it in his mind to free her. After a quest and dungeon ambush, in the end Bell was forced to fight for Haruhime’s freedom.
Volume 8 is all about wedding plans – little Lili is getting hitched? Turns out blonde-haired Finn Demne of the Loki familia believes Lili to be a worthy wife and asks for her hand in marriage. While I won’t say exactly what happens next, let’s just say the matter is settled with a duel. While not exactly a fight against a goliath, this is where the story leaves as of this publishing.
The End?
As you can see, the remaining three volumes do not offer enough content for a second season unless the director opens with the Sword Oratoria light novel series. We don’t really know what’s going to happen with Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon? Volume 9 and 10, but many suspect we will learn more about Bell Cranel’s family and why he has superior abilities.
Would you rather wait for more volumes to be written, or do you think Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon? Season 2 should go in a different direction compared to the light novels?
