‘Skullgirls 2nd Encore’ Exclusive To PlayStation Amongst The New Video Games For Week Of July 15, 2015
Another quiet week of new video games for the week of July 5, 2015, as the PlayStation once again sees the bulk of new releases. E3 2015 is in the rear view mirror, with visions of Fallout 4 and other games coming during the wallet-depleting fourth quarter ahead. Between now and then are some other games to be excited about, with a few of those game launching this week.
Pneuma from Bevel Studios has been out on Steam and Xbox One as the Inquisitr has covered previously. The Unreal Engine 4 is a first-person puzzler with an aesthetic that harkens back to the original adventure game Myst. Pneuma is a god in this world and players take control of this character and listen to his comedic inner monologue during the course of the game similar to the third-person narration of Bastion. Wrestling with the nature of reality is the story told by the developer as the player progresses through a series of challenging puzzles that require perception, observation, and lateral thinking skills to succeed. According to the developer, “Pneuma’s story is one that can only be told through the interactive medium of video games.” Pneuma is scheduled to release on the PlayStation 4 on July 7.
Fighting game fans will enjoy one of the new video games this week. Skullgirls 2nd Encore is making its exclusive debut on the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita this week. This updated version of the original Skullgirls Encore is exclusive to Sony’s platforms due to lack of a publisher for Nintendo and the Xbox One’s controversial parity clause preventing the release, according to a tweet from the Official Twitter account for Skullgirls.
@Master_Freezy MS doesn’t seem inclined to let us release SG2E on Xbox One because of their parity policy.

The parity clause for Microsoft, put simply, is that any Indie title released on Xbox One must release the same day as any other platform to keep Xbox One users feeling classy, according to Phil Spencer, head of the Xbox division at Microsoft.
Speaking on the Inner Circle podcast, Spencer stated, “If you own an Xbox One I want to work for you to make sure that when great content launches, if it’s coming to Xbox and another platform, that you kind of get it at the same time everybody else does.”
