Billy Joel Marries For The Fourth Time, Andrew Cuomo Officiates Wedding To Alexis Roderick

At age 66, Billy Joel is starting a new phase in his life. The “Piano Man” singer is soon to be a father again and, as of Saturday, is a newlywed. People reported that Joel married his longtime girlfriend, Alexis Roderick, on Joel’s Long Island estate.

Roderick, 33, and Joel started dating in 2010. They met in a restaurant, according to the New York Daily News, and were friends before they became romantically involved. The couple told Us Weekly in April that they are expecting their first child this summer.

Joel has a daughter, Alexa Ray, 29, with ex-wife Christie Brinkley. Brinkley took to Instagram Saturday to congratulate her daughter’s father and his bride.

“Congratulations to the glowing bride and groom.. And to my daughter Alexa, who has a wonderful friend in Alexis! Wishing the growing family every happiness!”

Alexa is Joel’s only child. Roderick is his fourth wife. In addition to Brinkley, he was also married to Elizabeth Weber from 1973 to 1982, and Katie Lee from 2004 to 2009.

Billy Joel is excited for the new addition, as the Inquisitr previously reported. In an interview with Newsday, Joel said he looked forward to spending more time with the baby and being around more than he was during Alexa Ray’s childhood.

“I would like to have been around more because I was on the road for years and years when she was a little girl. And after Christie and I split up, she was in Colorado, so I missed out on some of her childhood, which I would like to have been there for. But now I have a chance to do it better.”

The wedding ceremony was attended by a small group of well-wishers. People reported that Alexa Ray was on hand, as was comedian Kevin James. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo officiated the ceremony.

Joel is still performing regularly, including monthly shows at Madison Square Garden this summer. But he told Newsday he might just become his child’s full time caregiver.

“I’m gonna spend a lot of time with this kid. I was thinking about that. I’m probably going to be able to spend more time with this kid than most people are able to spend with their children, because I don’t have a regular job. I could be a stay-at-home dad for as long as I can stay alive.”

Roderick is an equestrian and former executive at Morgan Stanley.
