For months now, the rumor mill has been grinding out stories that Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are to divorce. Despite frequent denials from Smith, the rumors just keep rolling along. According to the Huffington Post, these rumors have been around since 2012 and they have been denied time and again by Jada Smith. Smith’s denials did not stop Hollywood Life from reporting once again that the Smith’s are headed for a $240 million dollar divorce .
Will and Jada Pinkett Smith have been married for 17 years, but they reportedly have an “open” marriage. Rumor has it that Jada is fed up with Will Smith’s behavior because he has taken the “open marriage” arrangement too far. According to Hollywood Life, Will and Jada Smith’s marriage is “spiraling out of control” because Will acts like a single man in public. As a result they claim that Jada is giving serious consideration to divorcing Will. As seems to be the norm in these cases, the gossip magazine quotes “an unnamed source close to the couple.”
“The ‘insider’ claims that “[Jada] consulted a high-profile divorce attorney after things hit rock bottom for them. She will leave him if things continue down this path. And she is not messing around. They like to say they haven’t divorced because of the kids, but it’s mainly because of the assets. At this point, their marriage might as well be a business arrangement.”
Earlier this week , Jada Pinkett Smith told Entertainment Tonight that “you’d think people would be rooting for you to stay together not to break up, you know?”
“It’s actually good news and bad news. The good news is there’s nothing else to talk about. This has been the only story, Let’s round up the divorce story again! Will and I love each other so much, and our family and our relationship is so important.”
Remarkably, Jada Pinkett Smith is fairly relaxed about the constant rumors and claims that she doesn’t lose any sleep over them. Smith says “People gotta make their money and do what they gotta do.” She even joked that Will Smith wouldn’t be with her at a movie premiere saying “just so you know, Will won’t be with me tonight, so here we go again. Just so you know we’re not getting a divorce again!”
