Proving that they’re the next couple to consciously uncouple, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner whisked their children away before the news hit that they are divorcing. In an effort to keep their three children out of the spotlight, the couple are vacationing as a family in the Bahamas.
According to E! , Affleck, Garner, and their three children — Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3 — are vacationing at a private location in the Bahamas. According to a source, the Bahamas have always been a special spot for the family, that they’ve utilized frequently. They’ve visited so often that they even have a house there.
A source told Page Six , “It was important for both Ben and Jen to get away from the media spotlight and spend quiet time with the kids. They have been spending a lot of time with the kids. This has been hard for everyone, but they are both doing everything to put the kids first.”
The last time the couple was seen out together, Jen seemed to be in great spirits, while Ben appeared worn and was sporting gray hair. According to the source, “The gray — it’s a concern. Ben and Jen are just worried about how the kids will adjust. That’s why they went away together.”
Since the couple announced that they were divorcing after careful consideration, the tabloids have gone crazy trying to figure out what went wrong in the marriage. One tabloid said Affleck bumping into ex-flame Jennifer Lopez at last year’s Oscars didn’t help matters. According to a source, that couldn’t be further from the truth. “There is no closeness between Ben and Jennifer Lopez. They bumped into each other at an Oscars event earlier this year and said hello, but that was it. The end of his marriage has nothing to do with J.Lo. This is just a rumor that some people want to be true.”
Ben and Jen announced that they were divorcing right after “celebrating” their tenth wedding anniversary. At the time, the couple released a statement about the difficult decision to divorce.
“After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time.”
As the Inquisitr reported , Ben will permanently live on the same property as Jen and the kids, but in a different house.
