Hillary Clinton Talks About Being Vice President
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton went on “The Situation Room With Wolf Blitzer” today to address the issue of American soldiers posing in pictures with the exploded body parts of suicide bombers. During the interview, show host Wolf Blitzer decided to turn the line questioning to domestic issues and specifically whether Clinton would be on the Democratic ticket on 2012 as Obama’s Vice President. Clinton did her best not to indulge Blitzer but eventually had to make a comment.
CNN issued a press release on the interview with a snippet of the interview and it said as follows:
WOLF BLITZER: If the President of the United States says, Madam Secretary, I need you on the ticket this year in order to beat Romney, are you ready to run as his vice presidential running mate?
HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON: That is not going to happen. That’s like saying if the Olympic Committee called you up and said are you ready to run the marathon, would you accept? Well, it’s not going to happen.BLITZER: I disagree.
CLINTON: Oh, well —
BLITZER: I think it is possible. It’s unlikely. You will say that —
CLINTON: It’s more than unlikely.
Clinton commented on her certainty as to the outcome of the 2012 election but she said that she does not comment publicly on politics anymore. She also offered her support to Joe Biden. On the same show she told Wolf Blitzer a few months ago that she will not be serving as Secretary of State if President Obama is reelected.
A newly released poll by PPP shows that Clinton is an early favorite for the 2016 Democratic Presidential nominee.
