Will Amber Marchese’s Cancer Battle Keep Her From Returning To ‘RHONJ?’
Is Amber Marchese returning to The Real Housewives of New Jersey for Season 7? Although the Bravo reality series will likely not return to the network until later this year or early next year, following Teresa Giudice’s release from prison, a new report claims Amber Marchese may not be coming back.
On July 1, E! News claimed there was only a 20 percent chance fans will see more of Amber Marchese.
“Amber joined the show during season six and was involved with the most dramatic storyline, but she recently started battling cancer once again.”
Amber Marchese joined The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast in 2014, for the series sixth season. At the time, she replaced the exiting wives, Caroline Manzo and Jacqueline Laurita. Although Manzo left the series after five years, she didn’t leave the network all together, and continues to film her spinoff, Manzo’d With Children, which will soon debut its second season. Laurita, meanwhile, was reportedly fired from the series after Season 5, but brought back months later after her presence appeared crucial to the show’s ratings success.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Amber Marchese was diagnosed with breast cancer for a second time earlier this year. During an interview with PEOPLE Magazine, Amber Marchese spoke of the shocking news.
“I was just sick to my stomach. I can’t even begin to describe the feeling you get when someone says you have cancer. Then to get it again after you thought you fought it and thought it was behind you … I was thinking, ‘This is definitely it. I’m going to die.'”
In a second interview with PEOPLE Magazine, Amber Marchese revealed she was blessed to have found the cancer as soon as she did, and explained her upcoming treatment plan.
“The surrounding tissue was not cancerous. It was literally just the tumor that was cancerous. We caught it in the early stages. It is nothing short of a miracle…There’s still a long road ahead of me. I am definitely going to have radiation for the next five weeks. We are still debating whether or not to do chemotherapy.”
Amber Marchese was joined by twins Nicole Napolitano and Teresa Aprea on season six of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. They too are unconfirmed for Season 7.
