WWE News: WWE Planning The Rock Vs Triple H To Main Event WrestleMania 32
When The Rock made his surprise return to WWE recently, many wondered if it was sign that he was coming back for a small storyline. He has been coming in for random appearances off and on this past year. Whether it was getting face to face with Rusev and Lana, being supportive to his cousin Roman Reigns after Roman won the Royal Rumble, or simply showing up at WrestleMania 31 for an iconic segment with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. Rock has had a stamp on WWE in 2014 and 2015.
At WrestleMania 31, he and Ronda Rousey went face to face with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in one of the best segments in WrestleMania history. The entire show was well done, but this segment got extreme press for WWE. It was unexpected, especially with Rock being across the country for Saturday Night Live in New York the night before WrestleMania in California. Add the baddest woman on the planet into the mix, and business surely picked up.
This segment was not random though, as WWE wanted to set something up from this. WWE really wants to get Ronda Rousey in the ring, however it is unlikely UFC President Dana White will allow her to do so.
According to The Wrestling Observer, WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon has already decided on the top 6 matches for WrestleMania 32. As The Inquisitr reported earlier, it was decided that we would not have Sting vs The Undertaker. However, Vince does want Sting to return to the ring. This is a pretty big deal. It is uncertain whom he will wrestle, but it is thought that he will get his first official WWE win here.
It was also said that Vince has a few ideas when it comes to The Rock in Vince’s 6 matches. It was originally planned for him to take on Brock Lesnar as the Brock vs Rock match is easy to market and would main event in any arena in the world. However, Vince feels that having Rock back to face off with Triple H would be better. The plan is either to have Rock face The Game or have Triple H and Stephanie McMahon vs The Rock and Ronda Rousey. There is also a thought that Rousey could face Stephanie in a singles match as well. Depending on which of these is done with Rock, we could have the main event of WrestleMania 32.
A tag match normally never ends WrestleMania and hasn’t in over two decades. So regardless of Rock being there, if the tag match takes place it will not go on last. However, The Rock vs Triple H would be able to main event. It is looking more and more likely that Rock vs HHH will be what WWE goes with since there is little to no chance that UFC allows Rousey to wrestle. They will probably allow her to appear though, as long as her role is similar to what it was at WrestleMania 31.
On top of all of this, The Rock is scheduled for various projects in 2016. It is uncertain if he is booked during WrestleMania time. So it is said that UFC and The Rock are more in control of these few potential matches than Vince McMahon is. This obviously does not settle well with McMahon who is big on being in control.
This is why many are under the assumption that The Rock vs Triple H may not main event even if it does happen, as Vince will already have employed a match with current workers that will settle in as a main event in his eyes. Many believe the match could be a triple threat between Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Title. However, this is uncertain.
