‘Diablo 3’ Patch 2.3 Now On Public Test Realm, Check Out The Patch Notes And Kanai’s Cube
Nephalem looking to find out what is coming to Diablo 3 next are in luck. The next update, patch 2.3, is now on the public test realm with full patch notes. Although content on the test server and its patch notes are tentative, players can get a wonderful idea of what will come to the live Diablo 3 servers soon.
Blizzard Entertainment posted the patch notes, a work in progress until the patch releases, with instructions on how to test the new content. Simply reading the patch notes, though, is a great way to discover how Diablo 3 will evolve. Most notably, more details on Kanai’s Cube, the system to take the passives of legendary items as use them as a passive, are included.
After speaking with Zoltun Kulle in one of the town areas of the game, players will be sent into the world to find Kanai’s Cube. The item itself is a new artisan like the blacksmith or mystic that players can enable to use legendary items in new ways. Instead of having to equip an item to get its legendary feature, players can use the cube to extract the legendary property as a passive.
“Destroy an item to add its Legendary power to your catalogue of collected powers. Once a power has been extracted, it can be equipped to your character without the need to equip the item. Players may have one Weapon, one Armor, and one Jewelry power equipped at a time. Players may only equip powers from items that their characters can normally equip and use.”
Kanai’s Cube also lets players reforge legendary items completely rerolling them, upgrade a rare item and turning it into a legendary, convert set items to other pieces of the same set, and much more. Level requirements can be removed with the cube as well as converting gems and crafting materials.
Additionally, players should be able to test the new zone, The Ruins of Sescheron, and a number of new legendary items on the test realm. A new Season Journey interface and tracking system is also included in the massive update for those looking to follow their progress through a season with a little more detail.
Players can learn to use the public test realm by checking out the official post on the Blizzard website. Participants will need to follow a number of steps including signing up for the Diablo 3 public test realm, selecting the realm from the launchers, and copying their live characters to the public test realm.
The Inquisitr reported on the patch 2.3 preview just last week, and now that the patch is ready to test, players can look forward to it hitting the live servers relatively soon. Like the patch before it, patch 2.3 is likely to go live on PC, PS4, and Xbox One simultaneously. Diablo 3 players on console, of course, will not receive the seasonal changes. They will, however, still receive seasonal weapons which will be immediately available to find.
