‘Scream’ TV Series 2015 Premieres Tonight On MTV Starring Bella Thorne and Willa Fitzgerald, Plus Some True Stories Inspired By The Movie
Scream 2015 is a new tv series that will premiere tonight on MTV. Scream–the tv series is inspired by the iconic horror film from the 1990’s that kept teens stuck to their chairs in fear. Producers promise that this new slasher tv series will stay true to the original movie, but will be updated to include a more eerie mask and modern technology. It will also take into account the mind frame of today’s youth. Scream–the tv series stars Willa Fitzgerald as Emma Duval, Tracy Middendorf as Maggie Duval, Bex Taylor-Klaus as Audrey Jensen, Bobby Campo as Seth Branson, and Bella Thorne as Nina Patterson.
Produced by DiGa Vision and Dimension Films, Scream–the tv series is set in the small town of Lakewood, where a local high school filled with teens experiences a wave of terror as dead bodies start to pile up around the town. The horrific murders are set off by a cyber-bullying YouTube video that goes viral—causing the past to come back to haunt the teens of Lakewood.
Scream, the original movie, debuted on the big screen in 1996. Since the making of the movie, there have been several crimes that have been blamed on the movie. One example is the copycat murder of Alisson Cambier, a 15-year old girl who was murdered by 24-year old Thierry Jaradin. Jaradin, whom detectives say had a Scream costume, stabbed Alisson Cambier 30 times.
In another true story, 17-year old Mario Padilla used a screwdriver and several knives in the stabbing death of his own mother, Gina Castillo. The teen, along with his cousin, stated that they were inspired to commit the murder from the movie Scream. Aside from the those gory true stories, cast members say they had a great time working on the set.
Bobby Campo, who plays high school teacher Seth Branson, said that he enjoyed shooting the entire movie but that his favorite part included the classroom scenes because he got a chance to talk about Shakespeare, as well as some other topics that may be unfamiliar to newer audiences.
Tom Madden, who plays popular rich kid Jakie Fitzgerald, said that the mask is very different from the original one from the 1990’s Scream movie, but believes fans will think the new one is a lot scarier. Madden also stated that he grew close to his cast mates during filming.
Other Scream tv series cast members include: John Karna as Noah Foster, Amadeus Serafini as Kieran Wilcox, Connor Weil as Will Belmont, Jason Wiles as Sheriff Clark Hudon, Amelia Rose Blaire as Piper Shay, and Carlson Young as Brooke Maddox, according to The Movie Internet Database (IMDB).
