Although Season 2 of Outlander is still a few months (Maybe a year!) away from airing, there is a possibility that spoilers concerning the new season will be revealed during Comic-Con this year. Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe, along with other members of the cast and crew, are set to attend the event, and many are speculating that they will release a first look at the new season.

The new season of Outlander is based on the second book in the series by Diana Gabaldon, titled Dragonfly in Amber . With Jamie and Claire making their way to France this season, there are a number of new characters that are set to be introduced.

Among those characters to be introduced in the coming season are Louise De Rohan and Alex Randall. According to Scotland Now , French Actress Claire Sermonne has been cast to play the part of Louise, while Laurence Dobiesz is set to play the part of Alex.

Alex is the younger brother of Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies). Although he’s related to the villainous Black Jack, Alex is nothing like his older brother. In the new season, Alex is employed by the Duke of Sandringham and is a kind-hearted individual, which is in stark contrast to his sibling.

At the same time, Stanley Weber will play the villain this time around, as Le Comte St. Germain. Additionally, Natalie Spence will be playing the role of a wife, Andrew Gower will play Bonnie Prince Charlie, and Romann Berrux is set to portray wee Fergus in the new season. While most of the new cast members have already been announced, there are still a few characters that need to be cast.

Specifically, many fans are eagerly waiting to hear who is going to be cast for the parts of Brianna and Roger. Many have suspected that the announcement of who will play the roles will be made at Comic-Con in San Diego. However, according to Realty Today , Ron D. Moore recently revealed that the parts haven’t been cast yet.

“It’s an ongoing process. We have started shooting but we’re not shooting those scenes yet, because you cross-board everything aggressively, so we have time, and it’s going to take a little while.”

Meanwhile, Heughan and Balfe will be presenting at Comic-Con along with Gabaldon and Moore. They are expected to take questions from fans and will hopefully have something to share about the coming season.

Season 2 of Outlander is expected to premiere in 2016 on Starz.
