Halle Berry Confirms Engagement To Olivier Martinez

Olivier Martinez told reporters last month that he was engaged to Halle Berry but the Oscar winning actress has remained quiet about her wedding plans. Berry, who once swore that she would “never, never” get married again, told reporters today that she was officially engaged.

US Magazine reports that Berry has been married twice before. The star has been attached to both baseball player David Justice and R&B singer Eric Benet, but now there is a new man in the Oscar winner’s life.

Berry and Martinez met on the set of “Dark Tide” in 2010 and started dating shortly afterward. The couple reportedly got engaged in January, 2012.

Martinez confirmed the news last month, saying “Yes, of course it’s true. We’re engaged,” but doubters got more assurance this weekend from Berry herself. The actress confirmed the engagement to Extra, saying:

“Who knew? I swore [marriage] off, right? Never say never, people!”

Berry and Martinez have not given any details about the wedding yet.

Berry, who has two children from her previous marriages, was recently made the Silver Rose Gala Chairwoman. Berry said that she was honored to be a part of the Silver Rose Gala, an event that benefits victims of domestic abuse, saying:

“Being a mother is probably my greatest sense of purpose, but this gives me another sense of purpose outside my own family.”
