Glory Johnson Twins: Basketball Player Announces She’s Expecting Twins, Will Raise Them Alone

Glory Johnson is pregnant with twins! According to Mail Online, just about one month after her wife, Phoenix Mercury basketball player Brittney Griner, filed for an annulment, Johnson has announced the exciting news. Just nine weeks along after undergoing IVF with a sperm donation, Johnson is absolutely thrilled to be having two babies, and will raise them without Griner by her side.

“As of today I’m 9 Weeks Pregnant with TWINS!!!! #BigNews #BabyAIsBadAlready Its not a surprise for me because this is what we planned for with the IVF Cycle, though hearing their hearts beat for time was the most ASTONISHING thing I have ever heard in my ENTIRE LIFE. For 15yrs Double-Doubles came with hard work and dedication… now I’ve been blessed by God to have ‘double doubles’ for the rest of my life! Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Psalms 127:3,” Johnson posted on Instagram, along with the ultrasound photo below.

Glory Johnson apparently wanted twins, and while she was previously planning to raise her child(ren) with Brittney Griner, she’s still happy to become a mom. According to E! News, the women have agreed to end their marriage, and Griner has said that she didn’t want to have children in the first place, leaving Johnson to raise these babies on her own.

“You know, sometimes you feel pressured into things, and I went along with it. And I know I shouldn’t have. It was a huge mistake. I just knew it was a mistake,” Griner said of marrying Johnson. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the two women seem to have different opinions on what went wrong between them. Griner says that she felt pressured into having a baby, and that she wasn’t even sure about her marriage. Johnson disagrees, and says that the two made the decision to become parents together.

Nonetheless, Glory Johnson is focusing on her twins, and trying to stay positive at this point.

“I am ready to begin focusing on my health, pregnancy, and am going to remain in Tulsa to continue to build my relationship with the Tulsa Shock organization, and my teammates. I appreciate the support of my fans, family, and loved ones and look forward to returning to the basketball court as soon as I can,” she said recently.

Brittney Griner has not commented on the double baby news, and she likely won’t. She seems to want to walk away from Johnson with no strings attached.
