Katie Holmes Shares A Rare Public Outing With Daughter Suri Cruise

Understandably, Katie Holmes has gone to great lengths to protect young Suri Cruise from exposure to the public and especially the media, but this past weekend Ms. Holmes made a rare exception to that rule. Katie shared a photo of herself and daughter Suri Cruise enjoying a day at Disneyland.

“Nothing like a day at @disneyland,” Holmes captioned the picture she shared with her Instagram followers.

Katie was all too eager to indulge her inner child along with Suri. Ms. Holmes was captured enjoying the thrills of a roller coaster later in the day while a friend stayed with Suri, who was too small for that ride.

This wasn’t the first time Ms. Holmes shared a mother-daughter moment with her fans. Earlier this year, Holmes’ followers were treated to another memory, when Katie shared a photo of herself playing dress-up with Suri. Both 9-year-old Cruise and Katie were sporting over-sized orange sunglasses in that picture.

Katie has stated in several interviews that raising Suri is her number one priority, and that she believes the best way to do that is to keep Suri away from the public eye and to limit her exposure to the Hollywood lifestyle. Holmes has also kept the nature of her relationship with Jamie Foxx as private as possible, which sources close to Katie is due to Holmes’ desire to provide a stable, nurturing home life for her daughter.

When she’s not taking Suri to the park or playing dress-up, Katie admits she’s a huge bookworm.

“I don’t take my work home with me. We’re just playing characters so I do my work and then I go home and live my life,” Katie said. “I love reading books, which makes me feel very peaceful and happy. A room full of books is one of the most peaceful places to be.”

Speaking of work, Ms. Holmes mentioned the difficulty of stepping into her new Ray Donovan role, due to one prop that is an essential part of Holmes’ character.

“I have a role in the new season of Ray Donovan, playing the daughter of a very wealthy family who is sort of a femme fatale,” Ms. Holmes says. “She wears braces on her teeth, which I’m always messing up with because they’re always falling out.”

The third season of Ray Donovan, starring Liev Schreiber, will premiere on July 12 on Showtime.
