Justin Bieber Pal Joe Termini Bitten By Reef Shark In Bora Bora After Hillsong Trip
Justin Bieber’s pal, Joe Termini, had an unfortunate encounter with a reef shark when a swim went awry on Sunday.
The buddies had stopped over at a resort on Bora Bora, an South Pacific island in French Polynesia, after jetting out of Sydney early on Saturday morning after a visit to Australia to attend the five-day Hillsong Church conference. Both young men are regular attendees of the Pentecostal megachurch.
Termini, a photographer, sustained a nasty looking wound on his chest and rib cage after he was attacked by a reef shark during a dip. Justin Instagrammed a photo of his injured comrade, who is seen lying on a towel on decking.
“Exactly why i hate sharks they told us reef sharks don’t bite @joetermini,” Justin wrote by the pic, which he shared to his over 31 million Instagram followers.
Over on his Twitter account, the “Where Are Ü Now” singer tagged his fallen friend into a more jocular message, writing, “Hey @joe_termini it’s #SharkWeek lol.”
The Biebs has a longstanding fear of sharks. He discussed it with Jimmy Kimmel during a 2012 NBC television special.

Joe also got in on the online action last night, sharing a close-up pic of his shark bite-mark.
“It’s been a good day,” Termini noted next to the nauseating snap.
The bizarre accident took place a day after Justin was seen boarding a private jet with Joe and Pastor Joel Houston, who is the head of the church’s Hillsong United youth band, and co-pastors Hillsong NYC church with the singer’s spiritual adviser, Pastor Carl Lentz.
Justin captioned the lighthearted tableau, with, “Happy 4th.”
Hailey Baldwin, who is a longtime pal of Justin, also flew to Sydney for the annual Hillsong conference. As with her flight into the capital, the model departed on a commercial flight.
The 18-year-old tweeted about Joe’s shark attack on Sunday night. “Of course Joey would get bit by a shark,” the blonde beauty wrote.
A fan at the hotel Justin is staying at in Bora Bora took to Twitter on Sunday and revealed the superstar sang a few acoustic songs to guests during his stay.

Hillsong Church was founded in Australia back in 1983 by the late Frank Houston and his son, Brian Houston, who is Joel’s father. The megachurch now has satellite sites in over 11 global cities. It’s known for its strong music-based content in services, a direct style of preaching, and “come as you are” policy.
During the Sydney conference, Justin praised Lentz when he chimed in on Carl’s interview with Ten Network Television. “I’m glad to know him. He’s changed my life,” Ten reports the heartthrob said.
Meanwhile, Pastors Lentz and Houston appeared on Channel Seven’s The Morning Show on Friday to talk about their role in Justin’s spiritual rejuvenation and the conference.
“We invited him like we invited a lot of people. He said he wanted to come, so he kind of cancelled other plans to come do this and I think that’s pretty awesome,” Lentz replied to a query when asked how Bieber’s Sydney trip came about.
At one point Joel said of the Biebs, “He is actually an amazing guy who I don’t think many people fully understand because they don’t understand what goes on in his world — or in his life — so it’s been an awesome thing for him to come here.”
