‘Batman: Arkham Knight’ Mods Appear Alongside First PC Patch
A Batman: Arkham Knight mod has been released from users “Wastelander121” and “MrJAG.” The mod allows gamers who play on the PC the ability to play as Red Hood, Harley Quinn, Nightwing, Robin, Azrael, Bruce Wayne, Catwoman, Commissioner Gordon, Joker, and GCPD Officer Owens in the free roam sections of the game.
The description of the video above showcases the instructions on how to download and install the Batman: Arkham Knight mod, allowing for the free roam characters. Before you go clicking to download the mod, be aware this is not an official Rocksteady mod or an approved one. You can break the game so be sure to back up your game files before you do any tinkering.
The Arkham Knight mod comes around the same time as the first official PC patch for the game that has been plagued with issues to the extent it has been pulled from sale on Steam. The first Arkham Knight patch released on Saturday corrected the following issues:
- Fixed a crash that was happening for some users when exiting the game
- Fixed a bug which disabled rain effects and ambient occlusion. We are actively looking into fixing other bugs to improve this further
- Corrected an issue that was causing Steam to re-download the game when verifying the integrity of the game cache through the Steam client
- Fixed a bug that caused the game to crash when turning off Motion Blur in BmSystemSettings.ini. A future patch will enable this in the graphics settings menu
The PS4 version is also facing some minor graphical bugs as well, but the entire development team at Rocksteady has shifted gears to get the PC version in a workable condition before going back to the console versions. Polygon reported that Rocksteady had stepped in as the lead on the patch efforts. The development of the PC version was handled by Iron Galaxy Studios who has a solid history in developing games and porting games for dedicated video game hardware. They handled the port of Borderlands 2 for the PS Vita and the Handsome Collection to PS4 and Xbox One. It is disheartening to see the PC version receive such a horrible port, but how much of the blame lies on Iron Galaxy, Rocksteady or the publisher Warner Bros. Interactive has yet to be seen.
