‘Big Brother 17’: How Is Jace Agolli’s Game Strategy Working Out?
Big Brother 17 has barely started, but the game is in full swing. The houseguests have already played the Battle of the Block and Power of Veto competitions. Alliances abound, and there is already a player in danger of becoming the first evictee of the season.
Warning: The following contains live feed spoilers from Big Brother 17.
Big Brother Network revealed that James is the sole remaining HOH after the Battle of the Block. His nominees were Steve and Jackie. Steve won the Power of Veto, so he will take himself off the block.
That spells trouble for one person: Jace Agolli. The plan is to backdoor Jace and evict him Thursday.
So, how does Jace’s gameplay compare with what he said before he went into the house?
In an interview with Big Brother Network, Jace said his plan to win was based on keeping a positive mindset. He alluded to the Big Brother adage of “expect the unexpected.”
“My plan is to go into the house knowing anything can happen. To know that a few seasons ago there was an MVP. To know that last season, you were not safe as HOH. So my plan is to really be aware that anything can happen and be prepared to be blindsided. My approach? Winning mentality. To never really let myself get down.”
Last year, HOHs were not safe because of the Battle of the Block twist. That game element has come back this year.
Jace went on to say he would not even be upset if he was put on the block, because he would be motivated to win the Power of Veto. Ironically, he did not express a game plan in the event he was to be backdoored.
Big Brother Network also asked Jace how he would avoid being the first person evicted. His plan was to get the power quickly.
“I know this could potentially put a target on your back, but I am going to do my best to win HOH. I am also going to do my best not to put anybody up that is going to be detrimental to my game. I will put up probably a weaker player first.”
Jace’s closest ally is Austin. If Jace leaves the house, Austin will learn that the “Five Alive” alliance they have with Audrey, Clay, and James is just a rouse to get out Jace. Audrey and James have a separate alliance with Da’Vonne, Meg, Jeff, Jackie, and Jason.
Jace said before the season started that he was looking for a tight partnership to save his game.
“I’m really looking for a person that I can look into their eyes and they are not going to avert their gaze… I am looking for a Mike Boogie and Dr. Will kind of relationship.”
The eviction ceremony happens live on Thursday. There is a lot of time between now and then. According to Big Brother Network, Audrey gave Austin a heads up that something might happen that he doesn’t like. Jace and Austin are realizing he may be under threat and trying to find a way to prevent his eviction.
Big Brother airs Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday on CBS.
