‘Project Runway Junior’ Features Teen Designers, New Reality Show Inspired By Heidi Klum’s Kids
Lifetime will debut Project Runway Junior this fall, a spinoff of the network’s popular reality show, Project Runway. The show will feature teenage contestants who will design clothing in a series of challenges, competing against their castmates to win a grand prize.
According to Variety, Project Runway host and judge Heidi Klum was inspired by her four children to suggest a spinoff “for the younger generation.” Lifetime agreed to the idea, and filming gets underway this summer.
Project Runway Junior will be co-hosted by Tim Gunn and supermodel Hannah Davis. Christian Siriano, winner of Project Runway season 4, and Aya Kanai, executive fashion editor of both Cosmopolitan and Seventeen magazine, will serve as judges on the show.

According to Reality TV World, contestants will range in age from 14 to 17 and filming will take place in New York City. The concept for Project Runway Junior will be similar to MasterChef Junior, a cooking competition television series on FOX that will start its fourth season in November, 2015.
Contestants will be given a variety of challenges, with eliminations on each episode leading up to a season finale winner. An air date for PRJ has not be set by Lifetime, but the original Project Runway series is coming back for its 14th season on August 6. Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia, Zac Posen, and Tim Gunn will all be returning to the popular reality show.
