Idina Menzel Sings ‘Let It Go’ With A Leukemia Survivor
Idina Menzel sang “Let It Go” with a leukemia survivor and inspired her to continue singing, and the little girl melted with pride.
A 10-year-old girl was honestly inspired when Idina Menzel sang “Let It Go,” and recently the leukemia survivor had the chance of a lifetime to do a duet with the Frozen star.
Amy Carmichael has been in remission for eight months, and her spirits were high when she attended the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow. Idina Menzel performed “Let It Go,” a song that the child holds close to her heart. Lucky for her, Menzel was able to meet her backstage and talk to her for a little bit.
The most encouraging part? Menzel told Amy she had a great singing voice and should take singing lessons.
“You have a higher voice than me and you should definitely pursue singing.”
Idina Menzel was apparently very afraid of passing on her cold to Carmichael, according to OK!, but perhaps Carmichael was just thinking of getting to the part where Idina Menzel sings. After all, it’s not often when a little girl has the voice of Elsa standing right there in front of her.
Carmichael worked up the courage to ask Menzel to sing for her, and after their “Let It Go” duet, the girl thanked her and reportedly could not stop smiling after the special encounter.
Little girls all over the world think Idina Menzel sings beautifully, and this was one little girl who couldn’t wait to tell her friends that Menzel had performed the popular Frozen song just for her.
“I am so happy. It was exciting and Idina was ?so nice. My friends won’t believe me. I’m going to tell them all.”
The child’s mother, Heather, was very touched by the whole experience.
“It was a dream come true. Idina seemed very touched when she heard that one of Amy’s friends had passed on last August and that she was going to sing “Let It Go” in his memory at a ball this November.”
The leukemia survivor was diagnosed with acute ?lymphoblastic leukemia in 2012, according to the Daily Record.
Frozen made it to theaters in 2013, and many children since have idolized Elsa when Idina Menzel sings “Let It Go.”
