‘Friends’ Reunion In The Cards? David Schwimmer And Matt LeBlanc Working Together Again
Friends reunion has been the dream of every fan since the show ended in May 2004. And these same Friends fans were on the edge of their seats when David Schwimmer, who played Ross Geller on the hit series, made an appearance on Matt LeBlanc’s show Episodes.
As Radio Times reported, the two former Friends act out a mini Friends reunion in a scene set at a birthday party for a fictional foreign dictator that was filled with llamas and drones. The two were discussing llamas and whether or not they should be kept as they were a gift from the fictional foreign dictator. It was a breath of fresh air to see the two acting together once again.
Friends fans got a brief taste of what it might be like to see a full-blown Friends reunion with all six cast members. Rumors have surfaced around the internet that there is a true Friends reunion in the works. It has been over 10 years since the show was last on the air, but it is having a resurgence with the full series now being available on Netflix.
Is there any truth to a possible Friends reunion? Unfortunately for Friends fans, it is looking quite unlikely. As reported by ABC News Los Angeles, Matt LeBlanc says that he doesn’t see a reunion happening anytime in the near future.
“I don’t see [a Friends reunion episode] happening either and I’ll tell you why. I think, you know how they always say the book is better than the movie? Friends was about a finite period of time in your life, like after college but before your life really started. And that was the magic of it, it was that point, that time in your life. It’s magical, you had no obligation, no responsibility, you’re free. To see what they’re doing now? Who wants to see, like, Chandler pushing the stroller around or at his kid’s softball game? Everyone’s kind of drifted apart in real life, so what would the story be and where would it take place? I think it’s better for people to imagine their own future for those characters than to see a scripted version of it.”
Actors Courteney Cox (Monica) and Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe) have both nixed the idea and have said they feel no one would be interested in seeing the aged characters.
It seems that the fans disagree.

According to Express UK, this is not the first time that cast members of Friends have staged an incomplete Friends reunion. Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, and Jennifer Aniston have all made guest appearances on Courteney Cox’s Cougar Town.
In an article on the Huffington Post, Courteney Cox hinted that David Schwimmer was the one preventing the Friends reunion from taking place
“We’ve not really had a Friends reunion. We’ve gotten about 80 percent there, but there’s always one person who flakes at the end. I’m not going to name names, but it may not be Schwimmer.”
The six have not been in the same room together since 2004.
Friends fans, we know you want to see a Friends reunion, but don’t hold your breath waiting. Just make the most of seeing Joey and Ross together again on Episodes and Monica and the gang on Cougar Town.
The good news is that Friends is now on Netflix, which means a whole new generation gets to experience the laughter and witness the chemistry of six amazing Friends.
