Warning: This article may contain spoilers for American Horror Story: Hotel .
For those that believed Emma Roberts was done with the American Horror Story series now that she’s the queen b***h on Scream Queens , Ryan Murphy wants you to know nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, it seems likely that Roberts-Peters shippers are going to get a treat as well, because Murphy has hinted that American Horror Story: Hotel scenes will be throwing Ms. Roberts together with ex-boyfriend Evan Peters .
“Emma is doing an arc on American Horror Story at the end once Scream Queens is done, but we haven’t figured it out totally yet. She loves the show and wanted to keep being a part of it, so she’ll probably do two episodes? Not sure. Or maybe she’ll be too exhausted from Scream Queens …what with all that running from the killer!”
Last week, following the break-up between Emma and Evan, Ms. Roberts was spotted out with girlfriends minus her prominent engagement ring. Although Roberts and Peters have had a stormy relationship, it seems the fire has gone out and there will be no reconciliation this time.
“Their three years together just ran its course. They have so many great memories together but couldn’t make it work in the end,” an insider said. “The breakup was amicable—there was no drama whatsoever. Emma and Evan are even still friends!”
Regardless, Ryan has no qualms about throwing the two back together for American Horror Story fans.
“She comes at the end,” Murphy said of Roberts’ return to American Horror Story . “She comes and she has a great thing with Evan Peters at the end.”
While the American Horror Story creator couldn’t be convinced to comment further on the plot of American Horror Story: Hotel , an interview with Us Weekly did reveal an interesting, if unintended, hint at what American Horror Story fans might expect.
“The one thing that I wrote that I’ve never gotten over was in the first season of American Horror Story , our second episode was about a home invasion. I really got freaked out, and I had to leave the editing room a couple times,” Ryan explained. “I have other fears, but after that, I’m like, ‘I’m never going to write about things that I’m freaked out about.’”
After four seasons of creating horrific images for fans, it seems Murphy is ready to return to a theme he abandoned for the effect it had on him.
“I want to write about something I’m afraid of to see what happens. So Season 5 of Horror Story , I’m back to that home invasion,” he said. “I find it very hard, but I feel like maybe I’m working through s—. I’ve tackled my fears. I can’t tell you what they are because then you’ll get what it’s about, but I went back to that, and I haven’t had in a while.”
American Horror Story: Hotel will premiere in October on FX.
