As Holly Madison Bashes Hugh Hefner, Hugh’s Wife Crystal Hefner Declares Growing Love For Him
While Crystal Hefner, Hugh Hefner’s 29-year-old wife, has remained silent regarding what his ex-girlfriend, Holly Madison, has said about him in her new memoir Down the Rabbit Hole and in recent media interviews, Crystal has spoken out about her marriage. In a recent Q&A with Answers.com, posted on Tuesday, Crystal, who married Hugh in December 2012, talked about her marriage to Hugh and her love for him.
When asked how married life is treating her, Crystal said that it’s getting better each day. She added that her love for Hugh, now 89, continues to grow.
“It just keeps getting better. I love Hef more and more each day.”
While Holly paints a not-so-flattering picture of Hugh in her memoir, Crystal sang his praises. She said that she loves his humbleness and humor the best.
“That despite creating an empire he is as humble as ever. He is also quite the comedian. I am always laughing.”
When it comes to those who question her love for Hugh and their marriage, Crystal said that people who don’t know them personally shouldn’t judge.
“The majority of the haters blindly criticize and have never met us or knows us personally. Never judge a book by its cover.”
On Sunday, Hugh Hefner finally responded to Holly Madison’s claims by saying, via a statement to Us Weekly, that she has “chosen to rewrite history in an attempt to stay in the spotlight.”
In an interview with Us Weekly, posted on Wednesday, Holly provided more unsavory details about her time with Hugh. Holly said that it was Hugh who caused the negative and depressive environment for the women.
“There was a lot of politics inside the mansion — very catty, very competitive, a kind of scary place to live. Looking back, I see that [Hef] was the orchestrator of the whole thing. Kendra [Wilkinson] and Bridget [Marquadt] were moving out [and] I was going to be the only one there. It looked like I was getting what I wanted. And he didn’t have those other girls to play off of me anymore, so him being a dick was just him being a dick. So I started to realize that and I was like, ‘You know what, I can’t live like this.'”
It was after she left that Holly realized that Hugh’s true nature.
“After I left, I’d compare and hear things from Kendra and I would realize he was the one manipulating us all the time. But he does such a good job of putting on this gentlemanly air that I just bought it. I thought he was the good guy and everyone else was in the wrong.”
Like Hugh, Kendra Wilkinson, who is also heavily criticized in Holly’s book, believes that Holly has an ulterior motive. During an interview with People on Tuesday, Kendra said that Holly wrote the book for revenge. As reported by E! News on Wednesday, Holly, during her appearance on The Wendy Williams Show, maintained that she didn’t write the book to get revenge.
“I wrote the book not because I had an ax to grind or because I wanted a reaction from him. I just wanted to tell my story and hopefully inspire other women if they’re in a bad relationship or a bad situation, to move on and not feel branded by a choice they made or a person they’re known to be with.”
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, right after excerpts of Holly’s memoir were released two weeks ago, Kendra tweeted about not looking back but moving forward with forgiveness in her heart. Kendra seems to have since changed her mind about not addressing Holly’s claims.
Holly Madison also had something to say about Hugh Hefner’s comment that she’s just trying to stay in the spotlight. While Crystal Hefner may think that Hugh loves her for more than just her looks and body, Holly believes that Hugh doesn’t value women for beyond their physical attractiveness.
“I think he thinks I’m doing it for fame because he can’t grasp the fact that a woman would have a message and a story to tell.”
