Rose McGowan’s Sexism Rant Gets Her ‘Fired’ By ‘Wussy Acting Agent’
Rose McGowan dissed sexism in Hollywood last week, and her “wussy acting agent” apparently didn’t want to hear it. According to her rants on Twitter, the actress’ agent “fired” her for speaking up.
This follows closely after a similar rant McGowan used against actor and producer Adam Sandler. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, the Happy Madison producer left a note telling her to wearing dark clothing which revealed more cleavage.
In the tweet, 41-year-old McGowan didn’t specifically name Sandler, but she made it obvious enough when she said his name rhymed with “Madam Panhandler.” Considering the response from Native Americans when they read his script for a western parody, it wouldn’t be surprising.
Sandler isn’t the only one who allegedly objectifies women in Hollywood, according to Rose McGowan’s sexism rant. She told Entertainment Weekly about how, when she was only 17, she was told to keep her hair long “so men in this town would want to f**k me and hire me.”
McGowan even described a particularly disturbing meeting with a potential new manager.
“Another example, three years ago: I was considering coming back to Hollywood when I met my husband, and was about to sign with a new manager – and that guy stuck his tongue in my throat after the meeting.”
The Conan the Barbarian actress isn’t taking her rejection from her acting agent badly though, telling Twitter, “The awesome thing about being an artist? You can’t be fired from your own mind.”
I just got fired by my wussy acting agent because I spoke up about the bullshit in Hollywood. Hahaha. #douchebags #awesome #BRINGIT

McGowan has even had previous agents only proving her point about sexism in Hollywood, with one telling her to not talk much during meetings, because “it was intimidating to men – and she was a woman!”

Recent films have given women more of a chance to shine as more than sex objects, such as Mad Max: Fury Road, but there are still producers like Adam Sandler who repeatedly offend their own cast.
