Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal Tweets He’s ‘Running For President,’ Twitter Reacts
Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal made his 2016 presidential intentions known via Twitter on Wednesday. According to the Wall Street Journal, this makes Jindal the 13th Republican running for President. The official announcement is scheduled to follow late Wednesday afternoon in New Orleans.

The tweet links to a family announcement by the governor and his wife, Supriya. A video camera in the trees, above the Jindal clan seated outdoors, captures the Q&A with the two parents and their children.

Responses on Twitter to Jindal’s tweet to run for president and the linked video seem to follow a slightly less-than-complimentary theme.
Why does Bobby Jindal have a camera in his tree ? If I'm his kids I'm ripping up every teddy bear he ever gave me #bobbyjindal #creepy

So is that what all #BobbyJindal's cabinet meetings will be like? With the secret camera and the president hiding behind a tree?

Even actor Chad Lowe had to chime in on the staging of the family video.
Haven't witnessed something this uncomfortable since Peter Brady tried to sing at the height of puberty http://t.co/3JsuI8axyX #BobbyJindal

The fact that Bobby J. has announced his intentions to join the GOP comes as no surprise. On June 8, the Inquisitr reported that Jindal was listed as a likely GOP candidate.
The conservative Republican was at first praised in Louisiana for his response to hurricane victims of Gustav and Ike just a few months after he was sworn in as the 44th governor of Louisiana in 2008. He seemed to gain momentum as a “politician to watch” based on his efforts, but it was his nationally-televised response to President Obama’s initial speech to Congress in February of 2009 that began a downward trend in support for the Louisana governor, per the New York Times.
During his speech, Jindal criticized his own party.
“You elected Republicans to champion limited government, fiscal discipline and personal responsibility… Instead, Republicans went along with earmarks and big government spending in Washington. Republicans lost your trust, and rightly so.”
One Twitter user found the brand-new GOP candidate’s wishes to enter the race under the Republican banner slightly ironic.
A recent poll garnered him less than one percent support from Republican primary voters, according to NBC News.
The majority of responses on Twitter have shown a less-than-supportive reaction from the general public.
Come to think of it, why wouldn't the GOP nominate the least-popular governor of the most screwed-up state? #BobbyJindal

At least one person was happy to know that Jindal is running for president.
