What does Seth McFarlane have in common with Liam Neeson, Bobcat Goldthwait, and Ray Romano?
McFarlane, an award-winning writer, actor, and producer, joined Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show with another entertaining segment of Wheel of Impressions. McFarlane seemed to draw upon his Irish roots and provided the audience with an uncanny likeness to Neeson. Close your eyes while listening and see if you can spot the difference.
NBC’s Wheel of Impressions on The Tonight Show comprises of Fallon and a celebrity guest who take turns impersonating randomly selected celebrities discussing randomly selected topics. With the ease and expertise that the guest stars execute the impersonations, one may wonder how much is brilliantly scripted or whether it is, in fact, random. Be that as it may, it certainly does not detract from the humorous and skilled skits. Seth McFarlane’s performance follows in the footsteps of other celebrities such as Kevin Spacey and Dana Carvey, which have all been wildly popular.
Voted as the smartest man on TV by Entertainment Weekly , McFarlane’s Family Guy has often met with criticism as a result of the entertaining, satirical style which is designed to push boundaries. The show has in the past drawn the ire of Entertainment Weekly and Glenn Beck , to name a few. However, it has also received plenty of acclaim, with its fair share of nominations and awards.
The Family Guy creator has also written and directed Ted , starring Mark Wahlberg, an American comedy featuring a bear who is Wahlberg’s oldest childhood companion, but happens to be extremely crude and inappropriate as well. The sequel, Ted 2 , is set to be released on June 26 by Universal Studios. However, many are wondering whether the absence of Mila Kunis will just mean more bromance.
